Tool Objectives:

  1. Identify elements of CRP in individual school based environments.
  2. Identify elements of CRP, or lack thereof, in individual classrooms.
  3. Provide strategies to incorporate CRP into lessons and classroom environments.

Tool Description:

This tool is a short checklist that allows educators to quickly identify areas where they are including techniques related to CRP in their classroom environment.  Using the checklist, educators will also be able to identify areas where they need to place more focus on specific elements of CRP not indicated on their assessment.  The tool concludes with strategies to assess the educator in ensuring that their classroom environment and instructional practices are pervasively infused with CRP techniques.  

Tool Procedures:

  1. Read the article attached.
  2. Use the checklist associated with the reading to evaluate your own classroom environment and instructional practices.
  3. Determine where your strengths are and where you might consider placing additional, intentional emphasis.
  4. Read the strategies associated with each area to gain an understanding of how you can incorporate additional CRP into your classroom environment and instructional practice.
